ABOUT
VALUES
The four values that ground our work are celebration, trust, growth and challenge.
CELEBRATION
We feed the spirit of joy by acknowledging and appreciating both big and small moments of beauty.
trust
We foster connection by balancing reliability with adaptability out of respect for the nuanced needs of our entire community.
growth
We inspire meaningful change through creative exploration of ourselves and the world around us.
CHALLENGE
We present a space for discovery that pushes the range of possibility and encourages people to show up authentically through the journey of inevitable failures.
PURPOSE
When we first began building, it was with an eye on early childhood education. We came together around a need for holistic, earth-based anti-oppressive education for young children. What we learn before we turn six defines so much of how we see ourselves and the world. If we want to create a more just world, it starts with early childhood education. We are building values-based community that encourages kids to lead liberated lives. We come as teachers with decades of experience and as learners who respect the unique wisdom of children.
Within this vision, we have two aims:
Offer an immersive educational environment in which children learn skills through play, exploration and healthy social relationships
Support the growth of those children, their families and the adults in their community through values-based programming that recognizes the wisdom of every age and encourages meaningful interpersonal connections
EDUCATION
We are developing an early education co-op space for 3-6 year olds that is rooted in intergenerational relationships. This is a space where children are met as meaningful members of our community and where adults are invited to have meaningful relationships with children. We are teaching through joy and discovery. We come ready to learn from the wisdom of children and to guide their education. It isn't enough for children to learn the basics of letters, numbers and colors. Children deserve a safe place where they can learn that who they are is worthy of love, care, time, energy and attention. In teaching art, we also teach consent. In a walk outside we teach earth science and the importance of noticing beauty. We are here to help develop your children into confident, healthy children who can go into elementary school with a sense of their own value.

COMMUNITY
Strong communities create resilient children. Most homes are chronically under-resourced financially and relationally. Raising children in the modern world can be lonely and difficult. Isolation, misunderstanding and an inability to connect with other people compound in our lives, making it even harder to thrive. We want better for our kids. We want better for our families. We want better for ourselves and our communities. We want better for you.
Octavia Butler says that "Belief initiates and guides action or it does nothing." We believe in the importance of communities united around a shared vision of the world. We believe in celebrating what is beautiful, building trust intentionally, receiving change as an opportunity for growth and seeking out challenge even when we know it means we will experience failure. We call this a values-based community. These beliefs guide us to create space where diverse intergenerational relationships are the foundation for thriving as individuals and as a community.
